In the manufacture of viscose fibers, cellophane, edible casings, sponges and other regenerated cellulose products, several process sites release gas mixtures containing carbon disulphide and carbon disulfide and hydrogen sulphide from the viscose. This article describes the viscose fiber production process of exhaust gas treatment problems. A substantial portion of the carbon disulfide can be recovered when the exhaust gas concentration is high enough (eg in a degassing tank and in a spinning bath) but due to the higher partial pressure of carbon disulfide it can not be recovered in large quantities either from a practical or economical point of view. Because of the spinners
