《数学课标》指出:在数学学习中,要丰富学生对现实空间及图形的认识,建立初步的空间观念,发展形象思维.空间观念是在空间知觉的基础上形成的,是几何形体的大小、形状及其相互位置关系在人脑中的表象及想象.儿童随着空间观念的积累,可以逐步形成空间想象力.因此,重视培养学生的空间观念既有助于学生更好地认识世界,解决日常生活中的问题,又为今后进一步系统学习几何知识打下良好的基础.
