饮食是人类生存和发展的前提之一。一个时代的饮食文化,既反映了该时代的生产状况和经济水平,又代表着当时人们利用自然、美化生活的文化素养和创造能力。尤其是明朝中后期由于商品经济的繁荣和社会财富的积聚,传统的饮食文化融进了更加丰富的内容,“耑事华侈”的饮食方式,及时行乐的饮食心态,以及美食美器的饮食美学,食疗养生的饮食保健等等,都具有极其鲜明的时代特色。
