Through the intensive use of literary allusions, Virginia Woolf made the novel another domain for expressing its historical and literary views. As a work that presents Woolf’s questioning and amending the literary heritage in his novel’s initial stage, Voyage has special significance for investigating the writer’s thought development. Woolf not only expressed his hopes and dreams by the growth of protagonists with his own age, but also held dialogues with literary traditions. Discrimination of the interaction between the literary tradition of “Voyage” and the writer’s gender awareness has become the key link in understanding Woolf’s way and form of hard-headed asiatic slips in the literary tradition of patriarchy. On the one hand, Woolf tenaciously expressed the uncompromising position of female readers through the resistance reading, on the other hand, reconstructed the traditional proposal of marriage proposal by rewriting the fate of the heroine.
