一、前 言 在进行台风路径预报时,往往要根据当前台风所在的位置、时间、强度和它所处的环境场与历史同期出现过的台风进行对比分析,自然这里就存在一个台风历史路径及与之对应环境场的检索问题。在海洋工程的设计和施工、航运部门对船只的调度及最佳航线的选择、乃至海上举行规模较大的活动都需要对历史同期台风活动的气候背景有所了解。为此均需从浩瀚的资料和图片中逐一检索,最后分析加工成所需图形和资料。这些工作不但量大耗时而且比较机械枯燥。这对于以快速、及时、正确为基本要求的台风预报而言,无疑是极大的潜在威胁;这和当前以高速度、快节奏为前提的时代要求,显然滞后了一拍。因此使用高技术来代替手工操作,实质上是时代的要求。

Not only are these jobs time-consuming and boring mechanically. This is undoubtedly a great potential threat to typhoon forecast based on rapid, timely and correct requirements. This is obviously lagging behind the current requirements based on high speed and fast pace. Therefore, the use of high technology instead of manual operation, is essentially the requirements of the times.
