为探求博士生英语教学新路,本文依据经典语言学习社会心理学理论对工科博士生英语学习工具型动机、融入型动机和英语技能需求进行了实证调查。文章发现,工科博士生的英语学习动机表现在工具型动机远大于融入型动机,国际学术会议背景下的话语交流和学术性写作技能需求远大于其他技能需求。文章对这一研究结论进行了原因分析,并认为继续遵循传统的本、硕阶段英语教学的途径肯定行不通,需要从博士生英语学习的动机出发来研究制定教学目标和计划。
In order to find out a new way for doctoral English teaching, this paper conducts an empirical investigation on the English learning instrumental motivation, integration motivation and English skills of engineering PhD students based on the theory of classical psychology of social language learning. The article finds that motivation of English Ph.D. students in engineering is more motivated by instrumental motivation than integration motivation. The demand for discourse exchange and academic writing skills in international academic conferences is much larger than that of other skills. The essay analyzes the reason of the conclusion and does not think it will be feasible to continue to follow the traditional way of English teaching. It is necessary to study the formulation of teaching objectives and plans from the motivation of English PhD students.
