一、单元背景
Unit 5 Do you want to watch a game show? Section A1a-2c是新目标 Go for it ! Students,Book 八年级上册Unit5的内容。Section A主要是以娱乐活动为话题来谈论喜好和制定计划。本单元主要是通过“创设情境”的教学原则,并通过任务型教学( task-based learning )交际教学(communicative teaching method)创造性地使用英语。在“学中用,用中学”,从而引导学生们形成正确的文化观念,大力培养学生们的跨文化意识,形成自己独立的个性。
二、课时设计说明
本课时作为本单元的第一课时,旨在重点培养学生的听说能力。本部分首先通过图文将学生带入“谈论电视节目”的语境中,并呈现了不同电视节目类型的表达方式,以及句型A: What do you think of…? B: I don’t mind them. / I can’t stand them. / I love watching them. 用来表达对各类电视节目的喜好。本部分海呈现了谈论计划和安排的句型,主要学习不定式作宾语的用法: 如 want/ hope/ expect/ plan to do sth.在活动设计方面的特色:首先我播放一段短片“爸爸去哪儿”,来引出本单元的话题。这有利于激发同学们的学习兴趣,引发他们的思想共鸣。计游戏“Who has the best memory”来及时巩固所学有关电视节目的单词。通过“喜好对对碰”的游戏环节来引出表达喜好的句型,让同学们在玩中学,在做中学。)通过介绍自己的打算和计划来达到抛砖引玉的效果,引导学生互相交流他们的计划和打算,实现师生、生生互动,提高课堂的交互性。设计group work。通过调查同学们最喜欢的电视节目类型,并即时展示调查结果来达到巩固所学句型和加强师生交流和了解的双重目的。(加强对调查结果的反馈和评价,诸如:which kind of TV show is the most popular? And which one is the least popular? Why and why not?)最后的游戏环节则是模仿时下流行的game show,设计以不同的电视节目为主题的一期答题竞猜秀。在每一种电视节目后都有一个相关的问题。(所设计的问题不是流于形式,一味地追求流行和时尚;而是让每个问题都与本节课所学内容息息相关,且形式多样,诸如:单选、句型转换、回答问题等)。将同学们分成A 、B组,进行抢答 PK, 最后积分较高的一方将成为获胜方,并将获得老师精心准备的一份惊喜。技术应用方面则综合采用传统和现代教学手段,借助ppt /自己制作的flash和视频/ 电子白板、各种视频音频软件(不仅仅是插入网上下载的音频;而是将已有音频进行灵活处理和浓缩,使之更加符合教学需要)等,力图使课堂呈现出更多交互性,情境性和灵活性,也更能体现新课标的新理念。评价方面则注重生生、师生互评,提高学生的参与度,培养学生的主动和主体意识,让他们真正成为课堂的主人。教学设计紧扣教学目标,并且联系当下最流行的新闻事件、最时尚的流行元素;并且在教学中随时渗透德育。
三、学情分析
初中阶段的学生正是愿意展示自我的年龄,对参与语言实践活动有着积极主动的心理需求,对英语学习还保持着较浓厚的兴趣。八年级学生的自学能力较高,求知欲也很强,有着较强的主体意识和主动性,且也已具备了一定的计算机操作能力。所以本节课采用“学生自学为主,教师为辅?”的教学指导思想,并根据学生的学习要求,通过网络搜集要了解的知识。其次通过将新课内容巧妙地融入丰富多彩的教学活动,来激发同学们的学习兴趣和参与热情。
四、学习目标
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词:sitcom, news, soap, educational, plan, hope, find out, discussion, stand, happen, may, expect 2)能掌握以下句型:① What do you want/plan/expect/hope to watch? ② What do you think of talk shows? ③ I can’t stand them. ④ I don’t mind them. ⑤ I like/love them. / I don’t like them.
3) 能了解以下语法: 动词不定式结构做动词的宾语;后面接动词不定式做宾语的动词。
2. 能力目标:学会陈述自己的看法;学会谈论自己的喜好;学会制定计划。
3. 情感态度价值观目标: 学会谈论流行文化,了解各类电视和电视节目的名称和自己的喜好。 注意引导学生们形成正确的文化观念,大力培养学生们的跨文化意识,形成自己独立的个性。
五、教学重难点及解决措施
1. 教学重点:1) 学习掌握各类电视和电视节目的名称。2) 学会表达个人喜好,制定个人计划。3)掌握动词不定式结构做动词的宾语;了解后面接动词不定式做宾语的动词。

3. 解决措施:1)设计丰富多样的课堂活动,将所学知识融入到教学活动中去;2)鼓励学生合作学习,通过双人合作和小组合作对所学知识进行学习和巩固;3)鼓励学生充分利用网络资源,自发自主的查阅相关资料,达到预习和巩固的效果。
六、教学过程
Step one: warming-up
Play a clip of video about the most popular reality show “Dad, where are we going?” Then talk freely with Ss
e.g. Do you like this reality show? Why?
Then lead in the new words by saying: Do you want (下转第176页)

to know more about other different TV shows? OK. Let’s study our new unit, Unit 5 Do you want to watch a game show?
Step two: leading-in and new words
Pose a question: What kind of TV shows do you know? Then introduce Ss to other different kinds of shows by presenting pictures.
Try to add the pronunciation of new words. When presenting, let Ss get familiar with new words and expressions. Next play a game named “Who has the best memory”
Step three: Game time
Design another game called “pair-up” which aims to introduce how to express preference. Then lead in the first sentence pattern.
Step four: Introduce another two sentence patterns
Introduce another sentence pattern related to making plans and the reason. Make sure Ss can master the following key words: want / plan / hope / expect to do sth. Firstly the teacher makes her own plans to set an example for Ss. Then present pictures and text materials for Ss to make their own plans.
Step five: group- wok
Divide students into group of four. Make a survey about students’ favorite TV shows
A: What do you plan / expect / hope / want to watch?
B: I plan / expect / hope / want to watch….
A: why do you like watching…?
B: Because….
Then conclude the survey results and show the group work.
Step six: listening
Play the sound recorder and ask students to finish related exercise designed by English teacher.
Step seven: Game show
Now students are in a game show. Its topic is about different TV shows. Behind each show there’s a question to answer. (All the questions are closely related to the language points in this class. Besides they’re in various forms.) Divide students into two groups A and B to PK to see which group gets the higher score. The winner will get a surprise from the teacher.
