道德经》是中国传统文化的精华,对世界各国的哲学、宗教、文化等都产生了深远的影响,16世纪末被来华传教士翻译介绍到西方,如今已成为除《圣经》之外译本种类和数量最多的一种典籍。但是这些译者在向西方介绍中国经典时传递了一些错误的信息,因而造成对《道德经》的误解,进而使西方对中国文化本身也产生了许多误解。本文以《道德经》的核心概念“道”的涵义为分析切入点,选取韦力和安乐哲的译本进行分析,并与《道德经》“道”的本身涵义相对照,发现由于早期译者自身并没有认识到中西思想文化结构中存在的本质差异,单纯片面的用西方的思维方式来解释中国经典著作,这是造成经典误读的根本原因。
