李刚田的篆刻在雄浑豪放的中原书风的映照下,别有一种光风霁月的明净,这也许是他的作品在上世纪八十年代起在当代印坛引人注目的原因之一。他的篆刻取资广泛,从秦汉玺印到明清流派都有不同程度的涉猎,更接受晚清印坛印外求印的理念,采撷各种文字素材入印,作出可贵的尝试。他的刀法得源于黄士陵的生辣挺劲,徐无闻以“清雅峻洁”评之,可称是他印风的主流。一九九○年《李刚田篆刻选集》由河南美术出版社出版,首次完整地反映了他的创作风
Li Gangtian’s carving is reflected in the powerful and bold Central Plains style of writing.
