Mass concrete often causes the body temperature to rise due to the exothermic heat of the cement hydration process, and the concrete shrinks to cause cracking during the subsequent cooling period. To prevent this shrinkage, delayed-expansion cement was developed. One is the production of high-magnesium cement clinker, and the second is the incorporation of calcined MgO during cement grinding. Tests have shown that under the right conditions, cement that expands within 7-30 days can be produced, but this swelling tends to stabilize after 3 months, which makes it possible to compensate for shrinkage caused by cooling, while at the same time ensuring the stability of the product.
