Denver, USA 2006 New Denver Art Gallery, also known as Frederic C. Hamilton House, is an expansion of the original art gallery building under the auspices of the Italian architect Gio Ponti. The 146,000-square-foot (13,563.84m2) expansion project was opened in October 2006 and is now used primarily for collecting contemporary and contemporary art and marine and African works of art. The design of the Hamilton building is inspired by the Rocky Mountain peaks and the geometric rock crystals found at the foot of the Denver Hills.
