Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of epimedium flavonoids phytohormone treatment ovariectomized menopause syndrome. Methods A total of 98 patients with endometriosis were randomly divided into control group (n = 50) and experimental group (n = 48). The patients in group 2 received goserelin 3.6 mg subcutaneously on the first postoperative menstrual cramps, one cycle for 28 days and 4 consecutive cycles. After 21 days, the control group was given 100 mg of vitamin E orally once daily for 112 days. Epimedium flavanoide 10 mg · kg -1 · d -1 was given to the experimental group for 112 consecutive days. The changes of Kupperman’s menopause index, endometrial thickness, serum estradiol level and adverse reactions were observed in two groups during treatment. Results After 2 cycles of treatment, the Kupperman’s menopause index increased significantly in both groups, which was significantly higher in the control group than in the experimental group (all P <0.05). The thickness of endometrium in control group and experimental group before treatment were (3.21 ± 0.55) and (3.19 ± 0.47) mm respectively, and were 3.11 ± 0.49 and 3.23 ± 0.51 mm after treatment, respectively, with no significant difference (P> 0.05 ). There was no significant difference in serum estradiol levels between the two groups before and after treatment (P> 0.05). No recurrence of endometriosis was found in the two groups during the medication, and no obvious vaginal bleeding and other adverse reactions occurred. Conclusion Epimedium flavanoids plant hormones can significantly improve menopausal symptoms caused by low estrogen levels after ovariectomized, and no obvious adverse reactions occur.
