本草經共收集了葯物365种,其中动物性葯品計67种;植物性葯品252种;礦物性葯品46种,絕大多数(70％强)为植物性生葯,由于这种关系,所以古代的葯物学,太多叫做“本草”,如:唐代苏敬的新修本草;五代、陈士良的食性本草,肖炳的四声本草,韓保昇的蜀本草;
Herbal medicine has collected a total of 365 kinds of medicines, including 67 kinds of animal medicines; 252 kinds of plant medicines; 46 kinds of mineral medicines; the vast majority (70% strong) are botanical raw medicines.
