However, in the mid-1980s, it was favored by sculptors as a special means of expression. This article is intended to introduce readers to the works of 11 sculptors and to provide readers with an insight into their exploration of direct metal sculpture. The sculptors collectively represented a trend toward the exploration of direct metal sculptures in a vast area. Through a review of their work we can have a very valuable picture of the whole state of American art
