美国传统西部小说以拓荒精神和英雄主义而闻名,但其模式化特征也在一定程度上削弱了思想深度,使之与艺术精品无缘。二战后,西部小说的写作呈现出多方位、多视角、多层次的变革。本文旨在通过对拉里·麦克莫瑞《孤独鸽》的介绍和分析,从自我缺失和破碎性,叙事语言的隐喻性和不确定性,以及作品蕴涵的历史“文本性”等角度论证美国西部小说的后现代转向,表明其作为通俗小说,与严肃小说之间的界限已日渐消除,跻身于主流文学已成为可能。
The American traditional western novel is famous for its pioneering spirit and heroism. However, its modeled characteristics have also weakened the depth of thought to a certain extent, leaving it out of touch with the fine arts. After the Second World War, the writing in the western novels showed a multi-directional, multi-perspective and multi-level transformation. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that the United States, through the introduction and analysis of Larry McMurray’s “Lone Pigeon,” from the perspectives of lack of self and fragmentation, the metaphorical and uncertainty of the narrative language, and the historical “textuality” The postmodern turn of the western novels shows that its boundaries as a popular novel and serious novels have been gradually eliminated and becoming mainstream literature has become possible.
