我国工业丙酮常用NH_2OH·HCl肟化法测定含量,这个方法不仅手续繁琐,而且精密度差、终点不明显。根据Graven采用Agulhon反应,试液对纯丙酮在常温下需要3小时才反应,但有o.5%的醇存在时,试液中的Cr~(6+)在1~2分钟就发生反应,立即还原出Cr~(3+)的绿色,比较绿色深浅可测出醇含量;同时用卡尔费休法测定样品中的微量水,则丙酮含量%=100-(醇+水)%。
