Whether the excessive growth of money and wages will cause the price rise is an ancient issue that the academic circles are still debating. This paper points out that the far-reaching wage-cost-plus-price theory is actually a circular argument that can not prove that excessive wage increases will cause price increases. However, Marx examines only the special cases in which the marginal propensity to consume is equal between workers and capitalists, Growth will not cause price increases. Based on the fact that the marginal propensity to consume of capitalists is not always less than that of workers, this paper theoretically proves that the excessive growth of money and wages will not push up prices when the marginal propensity to consume of capitalists is equal to or greater than that of workers and vice versa.
