Both reading and silent reading occupy a certain position in Chinese language teaching. There is a fairly popular saying that silent reading occupies an important position in our lives. There are few reading times. Therefore, silent reading is more important than reading aloud, and reading teaching should be biased towards silent reading. Those who agree with this view think that the lower grades may wish to pay attention to reading aloud, but as soon as they reach the upper grades, they should pay attention to silent reading. This statement has caused many teachers to despise reading for a long time. In fact, this argument is one-sided, and there is a need for re-evaluation.
