Objective To investigate the expression of Survivin and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in gastric carcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods 12 cases of chronic superficial gastritis (CSG), 15 cases of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), 10 cases of atypical hyperplasia (Dys) and 60 cases of gastric carcinoma (GC) were detected by SP immunohistochemistry. The expression in the organization. Results The expression rates of Survivin in CSG, CAG, Dys and GC tissues were 0, 26.7%, 60.0% and 75.0%, respectively. The expression rates of COX-2 were 0, 20.0%, 50.0% and 70.0% The expression of Survivin and COX-2 in gastric cancer tissue was correlated with lymph node metastasis, tumor invasion depth and TNM stage (all P <0.05). Conclusion Survivin and COX-2 are closely related to the growth, invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer, which may be involved in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer.
