The crushing efficiency of the material obtained from blasting at the general minimum resistance line and the blasthole distance and the blasting of the material obtained at a 25% reduction in the minimum resistance line and blasthole distance were compared. Single-particle impact tests show that reducing the minimum resistance line and the distance between blastholes decreases the fracture stress and the fracture energy of the resulting material by 15%. Single-particle roll milling reveals that reducing the minimum line-to-blast distance reduces energy consumption by 25% compared to the common minimum and line spacing.
