The international financial industry’s business model can be divided into two categories, namely, separate business and business operations. Separation of operations means that each financial institution franchises its business within its own scope of business and is not allowed to engage in other businesses. Co-management refers to the mutual operation of financial businesses between financial institutions. There are similarities between the practice of Sino-US financial business model and the history of legislation, and there are differences in the systems of financial holding companies between the two countries. The competition between economic globalization and the WTO era has prompted China’s financial industry to gradually shift from a branch-operating mode to a co-operative mode of operation.
