Objective: To explore the impact of driver’s personality on risk perception. Methods: A total of 120 drivers in Dalian were measured using the Big Five personality scale and driver risk perception questionnaire. Results: 1 There were significant differences in the age-adjusted and risk-adjusted major effects of age and age (F = 26.141,18.074,21.337,6.701,9.933,15.545; P <0.01) .2 The scores of neuroticism and risk perception were all significantly lower in 3 dimensions Negative correlation (r = -0.211 ~ -0.321, P <0.01). Responsibility and risk perception were positively correlated in all three dimensions (r = 0.180 ~ 0.264, P <0.05). Pleasantness was positively correlated with risk identification and risk response (r = 0.216, 0.382; P <0.01). 3 Regression analysis found that age, age, neuroticism, responsibility and pleasantness could explain 31.8% of drivers’ risk perception. Conclusion: The older the driver, the longer the driving experience, the better the risk perception. Neurotic, responsible and pleasant can effectively predict the risk perception of different drivers.
