Plutarch’s Biography and Ethics are actually compiled by later generations for a classification of 126 surviving books. This pattern first appeared in the Llanpriath bibliography in the third and fourth centuries AD, and was gradually shaped by changes in major transcripts, printed editions and translations. When discussing these two collections, the domestic academic circles often mistook two books written by Plutarch at the time. The practice of naming all 50 surviving biographies in the biography of Greek and Roman celebrities, while imitating the Renaissance Amitayse and North Russian versions, ignores the specific cultural background and characteristics of the two, In the Greek-Roman pairing, “Passages” are confused. The nature of the biographies and biographies are not the same, and should be treated differently.
