前版画是指版画产生之前所出现的具有版画某些单一特征的物质形态和文化形态。本文从制版和印刷这两个角度展开论述。通过对“版”与“印”这两个前版画概念中的核心问题的辨析,既是对前版画本体问题的必要梳理,也是对前版画外显形态的分析和归纳,目的在于印证从前版画阶段发展到版画阶段的历史必然性,并对版画起源的研究具有重要的参考价值。
