“The leader’s responsibility, summed up, is mainly the idea of using cadres and two things.” Mao Zedong’s speech highly summarized the leaders’ key tasks. And these two things have a common core - decision-making. Decision-making is the bounden duty of managers, not so much their power, as it is a responsibility. Every manager, even every knowledge worker, has the opportunity to face multiple decisions daily. With empowerment and professional division of labor, the impact of a knowledge worker’s or an ordinary manager’s decision on the organization is often as good as that of the CEO. For Chinese managers, it is useless to know the theory of decision-making. The key is how to effectively improve the decision-making level in reality. According to my understanding, there are three practical key points.
