Objective To investigate the effect of ischemia-reperfusion on the femoral head injury in young rabbits. Methods New Zealand young rabbits as research object, rabbit age of 1 month, weighing about 1kg, male or female. Thirty-six rabbits were divided into 12 groups according to the time of ischemia and reperfusion, 3 in each group. After partially blocking the femoral head blood for 6h, 12h, 18h, 24h, the blood supply was resumed for 0h, 24h, 168h, respectively. Results After ischemia for 6h, the cartilage of the femoral head, epiphyseal bone, femoral head bone marrow, and epiphyseal plate of the femoral head were not degenerated significantly. After 6h of reperfusion, the nuclei of the femoral head were pyknotic and the cells were reperfused for 168h after 24h of ischemia Nuclear fragmentation and partial nuclear dissolution. Conclusion Ischemia reperfusion can cause the injury of the femoral head in juvenile rabbits. With the prolongation of ischemia and reperfusion time, the cell injury gradually aggravates.
