当代捷克电影已成为世界各大电影节竞赛单元的稀客。这不仅因为强有力的1960年代电影已经树立起“捷克品质”的标杆,而当代捷克电影又总是被拿来与之进行比较,还因为现在有实力参与国际竞争的作品确实很少。原因在于捷克导演将注意力倾注于地区性问题,而且一直以来他们对这些问题的思索未能上升到普遍性的高度。不过这种状况完全没有让捷克观众感到担忧,他们不仅关注国产影片,而且在上座率(35%)和销售率(票房净收入的30%)方面创造
Contemporary Czech cinema has become a fan of competition units in major world film festivals. This is not only because the powerful films of the 1960s have set the benchmark for “Czech quality,” but contemporary Czech films are always compared with them, and there are very few works that now have the strength to compete internationally. The reason is that Czech directors have focused their attention on regional issues, and their reflections on these issues have not been able to rise to a universal level. However, this situation did not cause any concern for the Czech audience. They not only focused on domestically produced films, but also created attendance (35%) and sales (30% of the box office net income)
