The horizontal crustal movement measured by repeated triangles (three sides) indicates the state of stress field acting on the crust, which provides important information for structural studies. So far, Harada, Sogan and ATO have all conducted crustal deformation analysis in Japan. There are also H ARADA and HIMURA for crustal deformation analysis in western Japan. Based on their analysis, stress acting on the Japanese archipelago is North-West-South-East.
