鞍钢矿山公司齐矿于1986年引进一台二手设备P&H2100BL12m~3电铲,自投入运行以来在生产中发挥了很大作用。但因易损备件短缺,导致个别部件早期报废,尤其铲斗在挖掘7个月以后,因无护套更换,使斗的侧壁磨凹80～100mm,斗唇磨凹100～200mm,如继续使用铲斗将有报废的可能。为此,矿研所、齐矿等单位,经3个月的时间,终于研制成功了铲斗侧护套和斗唇护套。
