High school is a high-level basic education stage that is linked to nine-year compulsory education. The “High School Mathematics Curriculum Standard” (hereinafter referred to as the “Standard”) has a new design for the high school mathematics curriculum according to the requirements of the times. While maintaining the fine traditions of China’s mathematics education, it strives to change some of the “complex, difficult, partial, and old” conditions in the current mathematics curriculum and its implementation. “Standard” sets up compulsory courses, and on this basis, sets up elective courses (modules) embodying different requirements and contents. The purpose is to provide students with multiple choices so that different students can choose to read different mathematics courses. . Among them, mathematics Class B courses can help students gain development in natural sciences, engineering technology, economic sciences, etc. Math C class courses can help students gain development in social and humanities sciences. For students who are interested in mathematics and wish to acquire a higher mathematics literacy, the “Standard” sets up the Math A module. The data processing, mathematics and social modules are mainly related to the mathematical problems related to daily life, as well as the mathematical contents related to human thoughts and culture. The mathematics content of the “Standard” has changed considerably compared with the past: some new topics such as algorithms have been added: topics such as mathematical modeling, mathematical inquiry, mathematics and culture have been established; and calculus, statistics, and probabilities have been entered in the middle school curriculum. A new design; the original content, such as analytical geometry, solid geometry, trigonometric constants, etc., was integrated and appropriately streamlined. It is particularly important to point out that the Mathematics A module focuses on cultivating students’ abilities of inquiry, reading, communication and innovation. At the same time, the “Standard” focuses on improving students’ learning styles and focuses on the development of students’ emotions, attitudes and values. The “Standard” also put forward requirements and recommendations for evaluation reform.
