上世纪80年代后,随着冷战的结束,世界各国军队开始更多地应对局部冲突、打击恐怖活动以及制止暴力等行动。在这类任务中,霰弹枪以其口径大、射速高、近距离火力猛和命中概率高等特点,为各国军警部队所广泛装备和使用。一方面,作战任务的多样化使霰弹枪的使用范围不断扩大。在山地、丛林、城镇及街区巷战中,霰弹枪具有独特的性能和其他轻武器无法比拟的终点效应;另一方面,现代弹药技术的迅猛发展为霰弹枪提供了广阔的空间,霰弹枪既可发射致命性弹药,又能发射非致命性弹药。目前,美国、英国、意大利等许多西方国家的部队(包括特种单位和反恐作战单位)都装备了霰弹枪,韩国、日本、新加坡、南非等一些亚非国家也陆续为部队列装了霰弹枪。在我国,霰弹枪的发展经历了从民用猎枪到警用防暴枪再到军用霰弹枪的历程,历经波折终有成果。在2010年举行的第五届中国国际警用装备博览会上,以CS/LA 2型18.4毫米半自动霰弹枪为代表的各类新型国产战斗霰弹枪的集体亮相,标志着我国在该领域已经达到了较高的水平……
