The Tampere Library is an inspirational example of the design philosophy of the Pythiras and the winner of the 1979 National Design Competition. It was built in 1986 and became Finland’s most striking monument to architectural art. The library is a three-story building with an area of 11,230 square meters. It passes through a modern baroque staircase and reaches the second floor. It is a bright curved hall. It is 13 meters high and 23 meters wide. It has a dome-shaped top and a 16 degree angle. It is exactly the inclination of the earth to the sun. The main part of the library is the lobby on the second floor, which is arranged around the entrance foyer. The top floor is the library’s music section, office, lecture hall, conference hall, and coffee shop.
