新疆哈密,地处亚欧丝绸之路中段,自古即有“西域襟喉”之称。世界四大古文明曾在此交汇,萨满教、摩尼教、景教、佛教、伊斯兰教等文化在这里融合。在哈密民间,蕴含多种文化养分的剪纸艺术不仅具有鲜明浓郁的地域特色、精巧细腻的艺术构思、质朴纯真的田园风格,更诠释着各民族多元艺术文化融合发展的重要意义。哈密民间剪纸艺术的传承与发展,完全基于一个由维吾尔、汉、回、哈萨克等不同民族草根阶层组成的创作群体。他们当中比较著名的剪纸艺人有:维吾尔族的卡德尔·罗合曼、再娜甫·伊布拉音、早然姆·艾买提等;
