何谓自能读书,当然不能简单地理解为依靠学生自己的能力来读书。按照叶老的观点,自能读书当属学生“不待老师讲”、“达到不需要教”的读书活动。这“不待老师讲”、“达到不需要教”的丰富而深刻的内蕴是什么?叶老并不明示。笔者认为,从阅读教学的本质和宗旨方面看,自能读书是指在阅读教学中,学生在教师的相机启导下,充分发挥各自的主观能动性,以读促思,自能通解,积极主动地感悟并掌握一定的阅读技巧,深入理解课文内容并获得语言文字综合训练的阅读实践活动。
