Objective To investigate the relationship between serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (Hs-CRP) and peripheral vascular disease. Methods From March 2014 to February 2016, 156 patients with peripheral vascular disease who were treated in Nanyang Central Hospital were selected as the observation group, and 156 healthy people were selected as the control group. Two sets of clinical data were collected, including sex, age, body weight, smoking, drinking and so on. The blood levels of triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HLDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) , Hs-CRP] were measured. The systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were compared between the two groups. Results UA, TG, Hs-CRP and smoking were the influencing factors of peripheral vascular disease, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that UA, TG, Hs-CRP and smoking were all peripheral vascular diseases (P <0.05). The rank sum test showed that the proportion of Hs-CRP in patients with peripheral vascular disease increased significantly from low to high (Ⅰ ~ Ⅳ), the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). According to Spearman test, there was a positive correlation between Hs-CRP and the severity of peripheral vascular disease (P <0.05). Conclusion Hs-CRP is a risk factor related to peripheral vascular disease and the level of Hs-CRP is positively correlated with the severity of peripheral vascular disease.
