OBJECTIVE: To establish a model of prosthetic bone repair in rats exposed to artificial dermal composite tissue flap, and to explore the difference between the direct and artificial dermal prosthesis repair and the effect of skin graft repair in order to provide a stable animal model for studying the healing effect of composite tissue flap. Methods SD rats were randomly divided into A, B, C and D groups (15 rats in each group). A group of rats were treated with artificial dermal composite tissue flap to repair the wound. Group B was implanted with artificial dermis to directly repair the wound. The dermis was placed under the fascia to repair the wound directly. The skin graft was used to repair the wound in group D. The healing was observed at different time points (7, 14, 21 and 28 days). Results The wounds repaired in group A were completely healed on the 28th day after operation. The wounds repaired in groups B, C and D did not heal completely. Conclusion The application of artificial dermal composite tissue flap to repair the exposed bone in rats is a feasible repair method.
