1957年初,我厂在电炉进行CB-08?A钢的试制工作。以前我厂生产CB-08A,虽与CB-08?A相近似,但也有根本不同之点,如锰的含量:CB-08A为0.35~0.60%,而CB-08 ?A为0.8~1.1%。由于这一点的不同,则使冶炼方法一时难以确定。进行多次的研究,认为如按CB-08A沸腾钢的冶炼方法进行,则将会因锰高给浇注造成很大困难;如以镇静钢的方法进行冶炼,则只能以铅粉进行脱氧(因为Si~0.03%),但是我厂电炉炉顶为矽砖,是否会由于矽砖顶下流造成矽超出规格。以后经苏联专家的指导试炼,决定以镇静钢冶炼方法进行。
