从听与说在大学英语教学中的重要地位着眼,从语言的交际功能出发,剖析听力训练的目的、效果,对听力训练的三步骤加以阐述并说明教师的指导作用,强调听与说必须相结合的观点,指出听力训练应突出对材料全文的理解而不是重在细节,并对具体方法做一些探讨。
