民生实业股份有限公司,是卢作孚先生于1925年创办的。这个公司开始时只有一条70余吨小轮,跻身于帝国主义列强争夺激烈的“黄金航线”川江之上。后来,从支流短航崛起,逐步发展到基本统一川江航权,航线贯通整个长江中下游,并插足沿海和东南亚,成为拥有船只140余艘,总吨位51,000余吨的旧中国最大民族航运资本。民生公司的发展与它的经营管理有关,特别是它所实施的工资制度,对于我们改革现行工资制度仍然具有参考意义。民生公司工资制度的基本内容和特点是:
Minsheng Industrial Co., Ltd. was established in 1925 by Mr. Lu Zuofu. The company started with only a small tonnage of more than 70 tons, and it was among the imperialist powers who fought over the fierce “golden route”.
