Locke was born on January 21st, 1950, in Seattle, Washington. His grandfather came from Taishan, Guangdong, China. Locke is the second oldest children of the five children in his family. His father served in the United States Army during World War II.
骆家辉于1950年1月21日在美国华盛顿州的西雅图出生。他的祖父来自中国广东省的台山。骆家辉在家中五个子女中排行第二，他的父亲曾经在二战中服役于美国军队。
Through part-time jobs, financial (财政的) aids and scholarships (奖学金), Locke attended Yale University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1972. He later received his Juris Doctor’s degree from the Boston University School of Law in 1975.

In 1982, Locke was elected to the member of Washington House of Representatives (众议院) in South Seattle district. Eleven years later, Locke made history by becoming the first Chinese American to be elected King County’s sheriff (郡长). In 1996, he won the primary and general elections for governor, becoming the first Chinese governor in United States history.
1982年，骆家辉所在的南西雅图选区选举他为华盛顿州众议院议员。11年之后，骆家辉创造了历史，成为了第一位美国华盛顿州金郡的第一位以及目前唯一一位华裔郡长。1996年，他获得了初选和终选的胜利，成为美国历史上第一位华裔州长。
Locke was the 21st Governor of Washing-
ton, serving from 1997 to 2005. He was the first governor of a state in the Continental United States of Asian descent, and was the only Chinese American ever to serve as a governor. He was then appointed by President Barack Obama as United States Secretary of Commerce.

Following the resignation of Jon Hunts-
man, Locke was nominated (提名) by President Obama to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China. The Senate (参议员) confirmed him by agreement on July 27, 2011. On August 1, 2011, Locke resigned (辞职) as Secretary of Commerce and took up his new post. On his first news conference after arriving in Beijing, Locke said that he would promote bilateral (双边的) cooperation and understanding between the two countries. And we hope that he can complete the work very well.
随着洪博培的卸任，奥巴马总统提名骆家辉担任驻华大使。参议院也在2011年6月27日通过这项决议。2011年8月1日，骆家辉辞去了商务部部长的职务，开始担任新的职务。在他到达北京的时候，他召开了记者招待会，他提到，要加强双边关系的发展，推动两国之间的合作和理解。我们也希望骆家辉能够将自己的工作完成得非常出色。
