A contemporary French painter brought several of his pictures. I opened the first book and started to capture the first of my paintings: “The streets of Paris in 1943.” The picture shows the scene of the streets of Paris during the German occupation of Hitler. Faced with this picture, I could not help recalling the streets of Shanghai during the Japanese occupation: the same dying babies, the same teenagers who forage in trash cans, the same girls with premature hatred in their eyes, The same unsightly heartbroken mother, the same infinitely sympathetic and full of grieving pedestrians, and the same shameless, ferocious and cold-hearted policeman ... In the depths of my memory, the scene of miserable and humiliating scenes, without any mistakes, is vividly re-imagined by a French painter!
