正确的选择齿轮加工用的夹具，是保证齿轮质量，提高生产率的重要因素。本刊于去年第十八期刊载了“使用弹簧涨胎来加工齿轮”一文，报道了使用弹簧涨胎的情况。现在陈炯贤同志来文提出不同意见；认为该文所提论点不够全面，指出采用心轴为齿轮加工的夹具可以更能保证加工精度。使用弹簧涨胎或心轴各有其好处和缺点，但如何根据工作物的加工精度要求合理的选用夹具，是应该引起大家讨论的问题。
