Cyclosporine has a strong immunosuppressive effect on the rejection of transplanted organs and is widely used in patients undergoing transplantation. It has recently been used for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and is expected to be also a treatment for severe allergic contact dermatitis. This article reports the effect of topical application of cyclosporine in contact allergy in guinea pigs sensitized with DNCB. RESULTS: Topical application of cyclosporine significantly inhibited contact hypersensitivity caused by DNCB and its effect was local. The maximum inhibitory effect was generated after topical application of 0.02 ml (25 mg / ml) cyclosporin for 3 days. After stopping the observation for 3 days without any reaction. Cyclosporine was effective within 3 hours after DNCB caused a contact response and no significant inhibition after 6 hours. vein
