作为专门用途英语的一个分支,警务英语课程依据学习者的学习目的和交际需求设定教学目标和教学内容,让学习者能够在有限的时间内最大限度地掌握满足未来工作需求的英语技能。要达到这一目标,就要引导学生有目的、有计划地进行操练,最大限度地为学生创造警务语境,培养学生用英语思考和进行口语训练,形成以学生为中心的教学模式。而只有将评价体系纳入平时的教学过程中,才能真正调动学生的积极性,使他们既有压力又有动力,从而实现课堂教学活动的有效开展。在教学实践中,“警务英语”课程尝试以“平时成绩+口头报告+口语测试”作为评价体系,极大提高了学生的主观能动性,以及课堂教学的有效性。
As a branch of ESP, the police English course sets the teaching objectives and teaching contents according to learners’ learning purposes and communication needs so that learners can acquire English skills that meet the needs of future work to a maximum extent within a limited time. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to guide the students to carry out the exercises purposely and in a planned way, to maximize the police context for students, to cultivate students’ thinking in English and conduct oral training to form a student-centered teaching model. Only by integrating the evaluation system into the usual teaching process can we truly mobilize the enthusiasm of the students so that they can exert both pressure and motivation in order to effectively carry out the classroom teaching activities. In the teaching practice, “Police English ” course try “usual results + oral report + oral test ” as the evaluation system, which greatly improves the students’ subjective initiative and the effectiveness of classroom teaching.
