It has always been the focus of cardiovascular surgery to reduce cardiomyocyte apoptosis induced by myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) catalyzed by cystathionine-γ-lyase (CSE), as a new gas signaling molecule, has an important pathophysiological role in the cardiovascular system , Can mitigate MIRI-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis by protecting mitochondria, inhibiting the endoplasmic reticulum stress reaction and reducing inflammatory responses, providing new ideas for clinical myocardial protection in the future.
