Lo! Where the Moon along the sky
　　Sails with her happy destiny;

　　Thousands though rich in Fortune’s grace

　　Bright ship of heaven!

　　月夜遐思
　　看呐！月神于苍穹之上
　　携着快乐的宿命遨游；
　　她常常躲开凡人的目光
　　或只是犹抱琵琶半遮面，
　　但当云朵破碎四散时
　　她多么光彩照人!
　　我们却截然不同——这个顽固的物种，
　　尽管在命运的恩典下富人成众
　　却步履沉重
　　追逐一生，
　　忘恩之徒寡欢愁颜
　　终年如是。
　　假若此等愁绪也曾使我
　　无由神伤气蔫，
　　而今一轮明月挂长空，
　　如明亮的天堂之船驶过！
　　让我鼓起勇气对抗阴郁
　　从此得到宽恕。
