Ethical relativism is an ethic thought that emerged in the process of historical changes in the West. It argues that it is impossible for ethics to provide universally valid moral standards that people all agree on. Mr. Hans Kun believes that humanity-based religions can overcome ethical relativism and provide credible explanations for “universal and absolute social norms ” because religion is an absolute and unconditional existence. The fundamental defect of Hans Kun’s religious ethics lies in its human foundation, because his concept of human nature is an abstract view of human nature and a conceptual abstraction. Only by returning to the base of Marxist outlook on humanity is it possible to overcome ethical relativism.
