福建农林大学校长郑金贵,采用杂交、辐射诱变和对后代进行同步双重筛选方法,在国内率先育成“谷秆两用稻”。谷秆两用稻产量高、米质好。农业部稻米质检中心检验结果:七项指标(精米率、整精米率、粒长、碱消值、胶稠度、直链淀粉含量和蛋白质含量)达到优质米一级标准。三项指标(长宽比、垩白度和透明度)达优质二级标准。该两用稻稻草粗蛋白含量达9.31%,比一般稻草的4.48%,高107.8%。用15N示踪结果表明,谷秆两用稻能把吸收的N有效地转化为蛋白质并贮存在稻草中,而该稻草蛋白又可有效地转化为菇体蛋白和动物体
