周光召院士在最近一次关于《物理学发展与应用》的讲座上指出:“近几十年来所有科学技术成果和发明,直接或间接与物理学知识有密切关系,所以物理学是先进生产力的开拓学科,是先进文化的杰出代表”。翻开100多年来重大科技发展的历史,从蒸汽机、雷达、核能利用、航天技术、遥感技术、纳米技术、网络技术等成果的发明和应用,说明了人类社会的发展和进步都与物理学知识息息相关,所以物理学是实现开拓创新的最重要的一门基础学科。1999年国际纯粹物理
