本文采用定量和质性研究法,对中国国家汉办与澳大利亚维多利亚州教育部于2008—2009年开办中国志愿者教师合作项目的志愿者赴澳目的、期望以及赴澳后的满意度进行调查,结果显示:赴澳国际汉语教师志愿者的满意度较高,赴澳后对澳大利亚的好感大大超出预期。由于赴澳的目的性强,希望融入当地社会文化的热情较高,志愿者教师的社会适应和心理适应都较好。其跨文化适应困难主要集中在人际交往和教学管理工作方面。为人拘谨、内敛、缺少幽默感、人际交流能力不强及对西方中小学教学管理缺乏经验等,是志愿者教师跨文化交流的主要障碍。志愿者教师的本科专业背景和任教地区的差异对其跨文化适应也有一定的影响。
In this paper, using the quantitative and qualitative research methods, this paper investigates the satisfaction of the volunteers from China Hanban and the Australian Ministry of Education in Australia who set up the China Volunteer Teachers Cooperation Program in 2008-2009, The results showed that the satisfaction of volunteers for international Chinese teachers in Macao was relatively high. The visit to Australia has greatly exceeded the expectations of Australia. Due to the purposefulness of going to Australia and the enthusiasm for integrating into the local social culture, the volunteer teachers’ social adaptability and psychological adaptability are all better. Its cross-cultural adaptation difficulties mainly focus on interpersonal communication and teaching management. Cautiousness, restraint, lack of sense of humor, lack of interpersonal communication skills, and lack of experience in teaching management in western primary and secondary schools are the major obstacles to cross-cultural exchange among volunteer teachers. The differences between volunteer teachers’ undergraduate backgrounds and teaching areas also have some influence on their intercultural adaptation.
